DID WE REALLY “OPEN” FOR ROBIN WILLIAMS?

Director Linda Carolan writes:

One Friday evening in October Fire on the Mountain was honored to be booked to perform at the elite Peloton Project Appreciation Dinner hosted by Lance Armstrong for the top fundraisers of the Lance Armstrong Foundation.  This took place at Texas Old Town in Kyle, Texas just south of Austin.  I guess now we can say “we opened for Robin Williams” because he took the stage shortly after our performance.  The security was extremely tight because of the “special surprise guest.”  Now we know why.  We were treated to a delicious barbecue dinner by the Ranch and some rather raucous entertainment by Robin Williams himself.  What an interesting evening.

LET’S RODEO!!

We were surprised with the action photo of the Fire on the Mountain Cloggers which appeared in the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo pull out section of the Weekender of the San Antonio Express-News.  Kathy Hankins, Letty Dietes, and Linda Julian were in fine form in that lively shot.  The shows at the Rodeo were most excellent.  Jean Karoly’s flashy footwork even captured the attention of the roving cameraman and Jean was featured on the WOAI-TV News later that evening.
